Harry Styles was nominated for four Brit Awards, including best album, artist, and pop/R&B act.

Rhian Teasdale, the lead vocalist of Wet Leg, stated, “This is terrifying because being on television can be such a guys’ club,” adding, “I want to call out all the ladies who worked on our debut record.”
She also mentioned Alex Turner’s 2014 Arctic Monkeys Brits acceptance speech, stating: “This rock and roll will not go. It may occasionally hibernate and sink back into the swamp.”
Both groups are signed to the Domino record label.
This year, there were no women nominated for best artist, following the decision by organizers last year to eliminate best male and best female honors in favor of gender-neutral awards.
Among the eligible women who were not selected were those named by Styles in his address.
Flo, the only black British winner, won the rising star award but did not perform. Their reward was instead announced before the performance.
Styles praised his mother as well as his colleagues One Direction members Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, and Zayn Malik.
Shania Twain, who played with Styles at Coachella the previous year, awarded him the Brit Award for song of the year.
