Sir Elton John’s 330-date farewell tour has reached its conclusion.

Since 2018, the 76-year-old performer has been touring the globe with his Farewell Yellow Brick Road performance.

As he concluded his Saturday night concert in Stockholm, he told the audience that he would carry them in his “head, heart, and soul” forever.

1973’s Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album was the first to feature his 1973 hit Bennie And The Jets.

The veteran musician dedicated Border Song to the late Aretha Franklin and the “legacy of the queen of soul”, telling the audience that he “could not believe our luck” when she covered the song in 1972.

He then released hit after success, including Tiny Dancer, Have Mercy on the Criminal, and his timeless Rocket Man.

During a spirited performance of Saturday Night’s all right For Fighting, gold confetti flew into the audience and showered the band.

As he took a bow, chants of “encore” and “Oh Elton” could be heard from the audience; he did not disappoint, returning to the stage after an outfit change to perform his final numbers.

Before concluding with Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, he reflected on his career following an emotive performance of Your Song.

“I have had the most incredible career imaginable. How fortunate am I to play music after fifty-two years of sheer enjoyment?

He continued, “Playing for you guys has been my lifeblood, and you’ve been phenomenal – thank you.” Never will I forget you people. I’ve performed so many concerts; how could I possibly forget?

“You’re in my head, my heart, and my soul, and I thank you so much.”

The tour was interrupted on multiple occasions, first because of the pandemic and then because Sir Elton fractured his hip in a fall.

Sir Elton performed his final concert in the United Kingdom two weeks ago, closing Glastonbury with a historic farewell.

After commencing his first tour in 1970, Sir Elton has toured for over 50 years.

Throughout his touring career, he has performed over 4,000 times in over 80 countries.

He claimed to have performed for over six million people during this tour alone, making it one of the highest-grossing tours ever.
