West Midlands Police reported that a 36-year-old man was detained for interrogation on suspicion of blackmailing television personality Alison Hammond.
A 36-year-old male has been apprehended by police investigating allegations of blackmail aimed at TV host Alison Hammond.
Saturday evening, a man from Warwickshire was taken into detention on suspicion of blackmail, according to the West Midlands Police.
According to reports, Hammond had been blackmailed for significant sums of money and a £5,000 BMW.
According to The Sun, the blackmailer threatened to disseminate lies about her to derail her career if she did not comply with the demands.
Hammond has been announced as the new co-host of The Great British Bake Off and is a regular presenter of ITV’s This Morning.
In 2002, the 48-year-old ascended to prominence after competing in the third season of Big Brother. In the same year, she joined the cast at This Morning.
She presently co-hosts a weekday daytime show with former X Factor host Dermot O’Leary on Friday mornings.
She has appeared on numerous reality television programs, such as I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, Celebrity Coach Trip, Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity MasterChef.
More recently, she co-hosted the 2023 Baftas with actor Richard E. Grant.
