The 40-year-old This Is England actress married 52-year-old film director in Nottingham, her hometown, on Friday. The couple can be seen dancing while being serenaded by the Our Dementia Choir, which McClure founded in 2019.
Vicky McClure married her long-term companion Jonathan Owen and then celebrated with her Line of Duty co-stars at her reception on the “best day ever,” according to McClure.
The This Is England actress, 40, and the film director, 52, married in Nottingham, her birthplace, on Friday.
In a photo posted to social media by McClure, the couple can be seen dancing while being serenaded by the Our Dementia Choir, a group of vocalists with dementia that McClure founded in 2019.
On the Instagram post that featured a photo of them toasting their wedding, she wrote, “Tied up in Nottingham!!! The best day. @jonathanowen71 Xxxxxx”
Pictures on Instagram also depicted her smiling with fellow Line of Duty actors Martin Compston and Adrian Dunbar, as well as the show’s creator, Jed Mercurio.
She announced on her program, “If anyone is listening, this is my father and Vicky McClure, and they just got married.”
After being inquired about the special day, McClure responded, “We’ve had the most incredible special day. We are heartbroken that you must return, but we are so proud of what you are doing.
Katie, you are missing a lot of movement, but we can do it again. We miss you and adore you.”
Before returning to the celebration, the couple requested that The Turtles’ Happy Together be played in their honor.

Friends and celebrities congratulated the couple, with TV host and comedian Paddy McGuinness writing, “Absolutely fantastic day! Congratulations!!!”.

Our Dementia Choir and the Alzheimer’s Society, a charity for which Vicky McClure is an ambassador, also congratulated the couple and wished them a “wonderful day” I wish you both a lifetime of prosperity and love.”
In 2017, McClure announced her engagement to Owen.
The sequel to her 2006 Bafta-winning play, This Is England ’86, earned the actress another.
She has garnered additional recognition outside of acting for her charity work and involvement with the Alzheimer’s Society. She is arguably best known for her role as DI Kate Fleming in Line of Duty.
In 2019, she founded Our Dementia Choir in Nottingham, after her late grandmother Iris was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and found solace in music.
Owen, a Welsh actor, and producer, has appeared on Shameless and My Family and won a Bafta for producing the 2006 documentary The Aberfan Disaster.
