The actor who portrays The Flash in DC Comics films, Ezra Miller, has commenced treatment for “complicated mental health concerns.”

In a statement, the non-binary celebrity apologized to people whose recent behavior had “alarmed and upset.”

Miller, 29 years old, was recently accused of a Vermont burglary and has been jailed twice in Hawaii.

Their remark to the film website Variety comes amid doubt as to whether the controversy would impact the 2023 release of The Flash.

The actor has previously portrayed the superhero in the films Justice League, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Suicide Squad, as well as the Fantastic Beasts flicks.

“Necessary labor”

The celebrity has also been accused of inappropriately interacting with a 12-year-old girl, who is now reportedly under a temporary harassment prevention order, and of grooming and brainwashing an 18-year-old, who now has a protective order.

Miller claimed in his statement, “Having just endured a period of tremendous distress, I am now aware that I suffer from complicated mental health difficulties and have commenced treatment.

“I wish to extend my apologies to everyone whom my past actions have worried or displeased.

“I am dedicated to undertaking the required effort to return to a healthy, secure, and fruitful period of my life.”

There has been talking about the status of The Flash, the first film to star Miller’s character, and whether Warner Bros. will release it with the minimal promotion or possibly cancel it due to the actor’s recent headline-making behavior.

David Zaslav, chief executive officer of the studio, stated earlier this month that he was “quite excited” for the film’s debut the following year.
