Pete Davidson Charged with Reckless Driving
Investigation into the Incident
Accountability for Reckless Driving
The incident could have had “devastating consequences,” according to the police, so they are treating the allegations “seriously.” The celebrity will be prosecuted in July.
Pete Davidson, a former Saturday Night Live star, has been charged with reckless driving after crashing his vehicle into a Los Angeles residence.
Police contacted the 29-year-old comedian after the incident on March 4 in a residential area of Beverly Hills.
The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office stated that it is “seriously” investigating the allegations, adding that irresponsible driving can have “devastating consequences.”
NBC reports that officers believed the vehicle’s speed contributed to the accident, but no further investigation into the celebrity’s sobriety was necessary due to his appearance and cooperation at the site.
The collision did not result in any significant injuries.
The district attorney’s office said in a statement, “We believe Mr. Davidson engaged in reckless driving, which ultimately led to his involvement in a serious collision into a home.”
“In 2022, the number of traffic fatalities in Los Angeles attained its highest level in two decades. This is a trend that we cannot ignore, as it is alarming.
“Therefore, it is essential that we take all allegations of reckless driving seriously and hold the responsible parties accountable.”
On July 27 Davidson is scheduled to be arraigned.
After the 2021-2022 season, the star left SNL as one of the most beloved cast members.
His filmography includes Bodies Bodies Bodies, The Suicide Squad, and Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts.
Also making headlines was Davidson’s nine-month relationship with reality TV personality Kim Kardashian, which ended in August of last year.
