On Saturday, the Friends actor was found unresponsive in a hot tub at his residence, as initially reported by the Los Angeles Times and TMZ.
The post-mortem examination of Perry produced inconclusive results, and authorities are now awaiting the outcome of toxicology tests.
Also no obvious signs of trauma were present, confirmed a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department.
On Sunday, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office updated the case file to reflect the postponement, indicating that the post-mortem is typically complete, but additional information is needed.
The specific location of the “water emergency” to which first responders were dispatched in Pacific Palisades was not disclosed by a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department.
