This year’s Scottish Music Awards were won by Lewis Capaldi, Sir Rod Stewart, and Paolo Nutini.
Sir Rod won the award for exceptional achievement in music and performed live at the ceremony in Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom.
Capaldi won the Raymond Weil award for worldwide artist of the year.
Following his return from a four-year break, Nutini received the best album and best live-act trophies.
Tamzene, Wet Leg, Gerry Cinnamon, and The View were among the additional event winners.
The 24th edition of the awards, hosted by Edith Bowman, generated funds for the Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy Charity.
Capaldi, whose most recent single Forget Me soared to the top of the charts in September, accepted his award via a prerecorded greeting.
Cinnamon won King Tut’s composition award, while Clare Grogan of the new wave band Altered Images was named a living legend.
Rianne Downey, a social media celebrity, won the breakthrough award.
Tamzene, who opened the evening, earned the award for rising talent.
The View was presented with the special recognition award, while Wet Leg was chosen as the finest UK artist.
Craig Logan, a former Bros bassist, and record label executive was honored with a Go Radio music business award.
The Nordoff Robbins foundation assists those with life-limiting physical and mental diseases, impairments, and feelings of loneliness through music.
CEO Sandra Schembri described the evening as “wonderful.”
We are humbled by the continued support of Nordoff Robins by the Scottish music industry and grateful to all the winners and singers who joined us at the Barrlowlands this year.
“The cash earned through the SMAs will go directly toward our objective to continue sharing the power of music as far as possible, enabling individuals to connect and communicate via music therapy.”
