In response to his remarks, the rapper, who legally changed his name to Ye last year, has also been dropped by his talent agency, fashion company Balenciaga, and bank.
A completed documentary about Kanye West has been halted as a result of his recent antisemitic comments, his ex-wife Kim Kardashian stating that hate speech is “never acceptable or excusable.”
MRC executives Modi Wiczyk, Asif Satchu, and Scott Tenley said in a statement released on Monday that they “cannot endorse any programming that bolsters his platform.”
In response to the issue, the 45-year-old US rapper who legally changed his name to Ye last year has also been sacked by talent agency CAA.
And 42-year-old reality television star Kardashian commented on Twitter and Instagram, “Hate speech is never acceptable or acceptable. I stand in solidarity with the Jewish community and demand an immediate end to the horrific violence and vile words directed at them.
West was recently banned from Instagram and Twitter for violating their rules of service, according to the social media platforms.
Recently, the musician has made several provocative statements.
In addition to claiming he would go to “death con 3” against Jewish people, he has said slavery was a “choice” and referred to the COVID-19 vaccine as the “mark of the beast.
Modi Wiczyk and Asif Satchu are MRC Entertainment’s co-founders and co-chief executive officers. Scott Tenley is the chief operating officer of MRC.
The three individuals examined the history of antisemitism in a lengthy memo.
They wrote, “Kanye West is a music producer and sampler. Last week, he sampled and recreated a song that has been popular for over 3,000 years: the falsehood that Jews are evil and plot to conquer the globe for their benefit.
“This song was performed acapella during the reigns of the Pharaohs, Babylon, and Rome; acoustic during the Spanish Inquisition and Russia’s Pale of Settlement; and electric during the reign of Adolf Hitler. Kanye has now helped to popularise it in the contemporary period.”
West was severely criticized earlier this month for wearing a “White Lives Matter” T-shirt to his own Paris Fashion Week show.
The documentary was shelved after the French fashion house Balenciaga and the American banking institution J.P. Morgan severed connections with West.
Others in Hollywood, including additional Kardashian family members, have criticized antisemitism.
On the weekend, though, West was cheered by activists who unfurled banners honoring him over a Los Angeles flyover.
