After her luggage was lost en route to Rome, the singer contemplated withdrawing. She was required to practice in sneakers for the annual Concerto di Natale at the Vatican, while the musicians accompanying her wore tuxedos.

Katherine Jenkins’ performance for Pope Francis took place Friday evening, even though missing luggage nearly derailed her presence at the pontiff’s Christmas concert.

After her baggage went missing en route to Rome, the Welsh classical singer warned on Thursday that she may be forced to cancel her appearance at the Pope’s annual Christmas concert.

However, she later stated on Instagram that “the show must go on” and that “I would have performed in a bathrobe if necessary so as not to disappoint everyone.

However, the 42-year-old stated that she was reunited with her missing possessions, including her clothing for the performance, just before she took the Auditorium Conciliazione stage for the annual event.

Saturday, she told her 118,000 Instagram followers, “Thank goodness the outfits arrived 20 minutes before the performance.”

During Friday’s “filmed dress rehearsal” in front of an audience, she said on Instagram that she was compelled to wear “trainers” while an orchestra member nearby wore “tuxedo tails.”

Later, she wrote: “Basilica of San Francesco d’Assisi – What a beautiful place: the town, the basilica, the people, and the music.

“I appreciate your hospitality; Merry Christmas!” (The concert is shown on television on Christmas Day following the Pope’s address.)

“I abide by the adage ‘the show must go on,’ and I would have performed in a bathrobe if necessary, but happily the dresses arrived 20 minutes before the performance.

A brother said, “It’s a Christmas miracle!”

Jenkins tweeted Thursday, “OMG! British Airways has once again lost my luggage.

She continued, “I am very disappointed that I cannot perform. Please resolve this.”

The official British Airways Twitter account replied with a tweet requesting that Jenkins send a direct message with her contact information so the business may attempt to locate her lost luggage.

British Airways’ spokeswoman stated, “We’re doing everything we can to reunite our customers with their delayed bags as soon as possible.”

We regret any inconvenience this may have caused.
