A music festival is a three-day event that began in 2011.
Kasabian is the newest headliner for the Victorious Festival, the largest urban music event in the United Kingdom.
Following Tom Meighan’s retirement in 2020, the band now consists of Sergio Pizzorno, Chris Edwards, Ian Matthews, and Tim Carter. The group was formed in Leicester in 1997.
They are well-known for a string of songs from seven studio albums, such as Fire and LSF.
This year’s festival will take place during the August bank holiday weekend in Southsea, Hampshire.
A scene for singers
Festival-goers will also have the opportunity to watch folk-pop singers Ellie Goulding and Ben Howard, as well as Natalie Imbruglia, the winner of last year’s The Masked Singer.
The Mercury Music Prize-winning band Alt-J will perform as part of the 10th anniversary tour for their record An Awesome Wave.
Other indie acts, including Scotland’s Belle and Sebastian, Happy Valley theme song composer Jake Bugg, English indie rockers Kaiser Chiefs, rock band Sea Girls, and punk-influenced indie rock outfit Hard-Fi, will also be performing at the festival.
The Charlatans from Manchester will perform with Blossoms and Friendly Fires from Stockport.
Are you a dance music fan? Here’s your jam, then.
Fans will also be entertained by DJ Pete Tong performing Ibiza Classics with the Essential Orchestra on the Castle Stage with Southsea’s Tudor castle as a backdrop on Friday night, followed by Annie Mac on Saturday night.
Here are some additional artists ready to shake the stage: Jamiroquai, Beabadoobee, Amyl and The Sniffers, Mersey rockers The Coral, The Enemy, Katy B, Dylan, Inspiral Carpets, Crawlers, Newton Faulkner, and Wunderhorse.
Andy Marsh, chief booking agent for Victorious, stated: “This year’s lineup is one of our largest to date, and we’re excited to finally disclose some of the fantastic acts that will be performing in 2023.
For the first time, Victorious will span three full days, and we’re proud of the extensive lineup of music, comedy, and family entertainment we’ve assembled for festival-goers.
This year is going to be enormous, and we are already counting down the days at Victorious HQ.
