Jodie Comer of Killing Eve has been nominated for a Tony Award for her performance in Prima Facie.

The British actress is one of four nominees for the award for best-featured actress in a play, alongside Oscar winner Jessica Chastain.

Comer has previously been honored with an Olivier Award for a performance that has migrated from London to Broadway.

Chastain’s portrayal of Nora in A Doll’s House is one of six in the reimagining of Henrik Ibsen’s drama.

Alex Newell, a former Glee star who identifies as non-binary, has also been nominated for their portrayal in the new comedy musical Shucked.

They portray a female whisky distiller and opted to be nominated for best-supporting actor instead of an actress.

“I chose based on the English language,” they explained to Variety. “Anyone who performs is an actor. That is genderless.”

Former Will & Grace star Sean Hayes is nominated for Good Night, Oscar, while Samuel L. Jackson is recognized for The Piano Lesson by August Wilson.

In addition, the list includes singer Josh Groban for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Dear Evan Hansen and Pitch Perfect actor Ben Platt for Parade, and Fences star Stephen McKinley Henderson, who received his second Tony nomination for Between Riverside and Crazy.

Some Like It Hot, the musical based on the classic film, leads the nominations for the prestigious theatre award.

It is nominated in thirteen categories, while Musicals & Juliet, New York, New York, and Shucked are each nominated in nine.

On 11 June, Ariana DeBose of West Side Story will present the awards ceremony at the United Palace Theatre in New York City.
