Anna Chancellor, best known for her role in Four Weddings And A Funeral, paid tribute to her daughter on Poppy’s Instagram page by sharing a childhood photo of her.
She wrote, “Poppy passed away on September 29, surrounded by her immediate family as she had wished.” Despite every effort, her body couldn’t carry on.”
She expressed her gratitude to the medical staff at the Royal Marsden, where Poppy received treatment, and continued, “We, her family and friends who all adore her, stand with the other families who have lost young loved ones.”
We continue to pray for her and support her on her spiritual journey.
“Poppy was and continues to be an extraordinary force of creativity, compassion, wit, beauty, and pure originality. She changed our lives, and we are incredibly thankful.”
The envelope was addressed “with all our love, Anna, Redha, Jonny, and Tara.”
Pop star Sophie Ellis-Bextor commented on the post: “I never had the chance to meet Poppy, but her presence in the world brought joy. What a brilliant and lovely soul! I am devastated to learn of her passing. She has left an indelible mark.”
Radio host Clara Amfo remarked, “Being around Poppy was nothing short of delightful; every interaction with her left you in fits of laughter or at the very least smiling.” Truly unique, we will always cherish you, PoChan.”

After her leukaemia diagnosis, Poppy shared in May that she had transformed her signature bob into a pixie cut in a social media post.
She admitted to feeling “terrified and physically exhausted” but also expressed “a newfound love and pride” for her body, crediting her friends and family for making her feel “like anything is possible.”
She jokingly mentioned that she would continue to share “occasional drawings, updates, and moments of joy” with her followers, adding, “I’ve been drawing myself in the bathtub, but you don’t need to see those…”
