- Liam Payne Cancels Tour Due to Severe Kidney Infection
- Apologies to Fans and Plans to Reschedule
- Refunds and Recovery for the One Direction Star
Liam Payne has canceled his upcoming tour after contracting a severe kidney infection.
After being brought to the hospital, the One Direction star canceled his performances in South America.
Following his fright, the 29-year-old stated that he would “rest and recover” by doctor’s orders.
He expressed regret to fans who had purchased tickets and stated that he planned to reschedule the concert dates.
In a statement posted to Instagram on Friday, Payne said, “It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that my impending South American tour must be postponed.
I’ve been hospitalized for the past week with a severe kidney infection, something I wouldn’t inflict on anyone, and the doctor has ordered me to rest and recover.
He continued, “I was ecstatic to play for you guys.” To everyone who purchased tickets: I’m so remorseful.”
Fans who purchased tickets will be refunded, according to Payne, who is “working to reschedule the tour.”
“Please be on the lookout for updates from your point of purchase,” he instructed. As always, I appreciate your love and support, and I look forward to seeing you shortly.
In an accompanying video message to his supporters, Payne stated, “This is the last news I want to tell you… We have begun rehearsals, and I have been advised that now is not the best time for me to travel while I rehabilitate from this.
The best individuals in my life are currently assisting me in my recovery at home.
Payne joined One Direction in 2010 when he was paired with Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, and Louis Tomlinson on the X Factor, an ITV talent competition.
Best Song Ever, What Makes You Beautiful, Kiss You, Steal My Girl, and Live While We’re Young were subsequent successes for the group.
After a pause, Payne returned in 2015 with Strip That Down, Get Low, Familiar (with J Balvin), and For You.
On the tour, Payne was scheduled to perform in Peru, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, and Colombia.
