- Cher denies abduction allegations
- Involving estranged wife
- Son’s addiction problems mentioned
Cher, 77, denies authorising four men to take her 47-year-old son from a New York City hotel room, according to his estranged wife.
When asked about the incident, the singer, aged 77, told People Magazine, “That rumor is false” and declined further comment.
Last month, the estranged wife of her son, Elijah Blue Allman, 36-year-old Marie King, accused one of the four men of being hired by the Believe singer. The abduction attempt occurred as the couple tried to “reconcile” their marriage on their November 2022 wedding anniversary.

Cher attributed the incident to her son’s addiction problems.
“I’m not dealing with any issues that millions of people in the United States aren’t,” she told individuals. “I’m a parent. You do whatever you can for your children.”
Cher’s older son, Chaz Bono, 54, was born during her marriage to her first spouse, Sonny Bono. Cher and the late musician Greg Allman, a former member of The Allman Brothers Band, were married in 1975 and divorced in 1979.
