Cher has fueled engagement rumors with her 36-year-old lover by uploading a photo of a diamond ring on Christmas Day.
In November, the 76-year-old revealed her relationship with music executive Alexander Edwards by tweeting a photo of him with a red heart emoji.
Now, though, it appears that they may take things a step further.
Cher tweeted a picture of a sparkling ring on December 25 with the caption “THERE R NO WORDS, ALEXANDER, A.E.”
While accolades poured in, several of her supporters were unclear about the photo’s significance.
One respondent: “Wait, wait, wait, pause!! Is that a diamond ring or a ring including diamonds? What does it meeeaaaan?????????”
Other admirers have expressed skepticism about the relationship, with one emailing the celebrity in early December, “I’m immediately dubious of his intentions towards you.”
But Cher responded with: “As everyone knows, I wasn’t born yesterday, and what I know for certain is that there are no guarantees. Every Time You Make a Decision, You Take a Risk. I Have Always Taken Risks…It Is Who I Am.”
Edwards is the ex-partner of model and television personality Amber Rose, with whom he shares a three-year-old son named Slash Electric Alexander Edwards.
Rose repeatedly accused her ex-partner of infidelity during their relationship.
Regarding Cher, the Pop Goddess has been married twice already.
Her first husband, Sonny Bono, with whom she shares a 53-year-old son named Chaz, passed away in 1998. The couple divorced in 1974.
In 1975, days after the divorce was finalized, she married Gregg Allman as her second husband. Their son, 46-year-old Elijah Blue Allman, was born the next year, but they divorced in 1978.
The past few weeks have been difficult for the singer, since her mother Georgia Holt passed away at the beginning of December.
