Bernard Cribbins, the 93-year-old star of Doctor Who and The Railway Children, has passed away.

His agent confirmed that 93-year-old veteran actor Bernard Cribbins, who narrated The Wombles and acted in the film adaption of The Railway Children, had passed away.

Gavin Barker Associates said in a statement, “His career spanned seven decades and included such diverse work as The Railway Children and the Carry On series, the hit 1960s song Right Said Fred, a notorious guest on Fawlty Towers, and narrating The Wombles.

“He worked well into his nineties, most recently appearing in Doctor Who and Old Jack’s Boat for CBeebies.

Last year, he lost his wife of 66 years, Gill.
