- Daring publicity stunt.
Jared Leto, notorious for going to extraordinary lengths to win an Oscar, is now exerting the same level of effort to publicize the upcoming tour of his band.
The musician and actor has become the first individual to legally scale the 102-story Empire State Building.
A Challenging Climb
The 51-year-old Leto scaled the exterior of the New York City landmark while wearing an orange garment and utilizing a harness and rope.
He accepted the challenge of promoting his band Thirty Seconds To Mars’ upcoming world tour.
“To be honest, I was more excited than anxious,” Leto stated on NBC’s Today. But I must admit that it was extremely, extremely difficult. I had not anticipated how much more challenging it would be.
It required a lot of tenacity and endurance, and it was exceptionally demanding.
The actor, whose performance in Dallas Buyers Club earned him an Academy Award, has also appeared in House of Gucci, Morbius, and Suicide Squad.
In March 2024, Thirty Seconds to Mars, whose popular catalogue includes “Kings and Queens,” will begin their first headlining tour in five years in Buenos Aires.

New York City Aspirations
Leto said, “Watching the sun rise over the city has always meant so much to me.” New York City has been synonymous with achieving one’s greatest aspirations since my childhood.
He concluded, “I reached the top, and it was a pleasant surprise to see my mother in the window of the eighty-first floor.”
Once the tallest structure in the world, the Empire State Building is 380 meters (1,250 feet) in height. When its antenna is considered, it has a length of 443 meters (1,454 feet).
