Amazon has announced that it will revive the Australian soap opera Neighbours, less than four months after its highly publicized finale.
Next year, production will continue and the series will then be available on Amazon Freevee in the United Kingdom and the United States.
Amazon described Neighbours as “a unique series with a strong connection to its fans around the world.”
When its star-studded finale aired in July, these viewers believed the show was over.
Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, and Guy Pearce were among the old favorites who returned for what was believed to be the final episode, in which every house on Ramsay Street was for sale.
For the next series, however, Stefan Dennis (Paul Robinson), Alan Fletcher (Karl Kennedy), Jackie Woodburne (Susan Kennedy), and Ryan Moloney (Toadfish Rebecchi) will return to Melbourne street.
In Australia, New Zealand, and Canada, the new season will be available via the Amazon Prime Video subscription service, while in Australia, it will once again air on Network 10. Additionally, previous episodes will be accessible to stream.
Amazon executive Lauren Anderson said: “The lives and stories of the Ramsay Street residents have captivated the show’s fans for nearly four decades, cultivating a devoted and devoted fanbase.
“With the power of streaming, we can offer thousands of Neighbours episodes for new audiences to discover this famous series and for current fans to revisit their favorite moments.
We are excited to immerse the viewers in fresh Ramsay Street experiences when we relaunch the show for Amazon Freevee and Prime Video subscribers next year.
