Former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo feels that Chinese President Xi Jinping is a greater global threat than Vladimir Putin because he seeks global control.
Mike Pompeo, former secretary of state of the United States, told that he feels Chinese President Xi poses a greater global threat than Vladimir Putin.
Mr. Pompeo stated in Beth Rigby’s Interviews that President Xi desires global control.
The U.S. lawmaker warned, “He wants to own you.”
“With his Marxist-Leninist worldview, he desires global hegemony and Chinese economic and political supremacy in every corner of the globe.
“That is his malicious goal. We owe it to the following generation to oppose it.”
Mr. Pompeo responded in the affirmative when asked if the Chinese leader is more dangerous than his Russian counterpart, who invaded Ukraine over a year ago today “Absolutely. Not even remotely close.
“Vladimir Putin possesses a very effective nuclear program and an economy reliant on a single industry. And if we manufacture energy in the United States, he would find this industry far less valuable “he remarked.
“Xi Jinping is a unique individual.”
Economically, the world depends on him because he has 1.4 billion people.
His economy rivals that of the United States of America, and his space, military, and cyber programs are very capable. That concludes the capabilities. And we now also understand his intent.”
Mr. Pompeo added that although Mr. Putin wants a larger Russia, “he has no illusions about his ability to rule the world.”
However, he stated Xi Jinping “believes that this is not frivolous. He believes that he will rule the world.
There are two fundamentally distinct threats to our way of life in Europe, the United States, Asia, the Middle East, and everywhere else.
Before serving as secretary of state under Donald Trump from 2018 to 2021, Mike Pompeo was the head of the CIA.
He described a meeting with Putin where he “gazed into his eyes” and “saw evil.”
“Make no mistake, he’s a nasty guy,” he said.
Biden’s weakness “enabled the Ukraine war to occur.”
Mr. Pompeo then criticized Mr. Trump’s predecessors, accusing President Biden of being weak and “letting the conflict occur.”
“What has changed during the past 10 years? In 2014, President Obama permits Putin to seize one-fifth of Ukraine, Crimea. We always consider this conflict to have begun on February 24, almost a year ago to the day. It began in 2014. For the next four years, Putin refrains from invading Europe. Does not require an additional inch. Then, as we leave the office, he resumes his argument. I do not believe that is a coincidence.”
Mr. Pompeo rejected proposals President Biden is a leader for the West in its response to the invasion of Ukraine, and he has criticized how other nations have responded to the war.
“The West has been slow, tardy, and scared of escalation, which has been an error. Therefore, we should make every effort to rectify this immediately. We should assist them with the necessities and position Ukraine and the West so that Vladimir Putin can see the writing on the wall. This is how deterrence is restored.”
When questioned about what a negotiated diplomatic conclusion to the war would entail, he stated: “It would start as follows. The United States and, more crucially, Europe provide the Ukrainian people with the instruments they need to fight and defend their sovereignty.
“To place President Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian people in a position of weakness so that President Putin can negotiate from a position of strength. The ultimate resolution that they will have to determine.”
An official of the US government told Beth Rigby: “Mike Pompeo cannot demonstrate whether or not Putin would have invaded Ukraine if Trump had been president. We do know that Trump’s foreign policy approach destroyed the confidence of allies and that President Biden restored that confidence.”
The official continued by saying: “President Biden has demonstrated tremendous and consistent leadership on Ukraine and has employed a steady and methodical cadence to win over allies. Germany has shifted from producing helmets to producing Leopard tanks. That is quite a change. It is Joe Biden who keeps the allies united.”
