In the past two years, Taiwan has accused China of conducting repeated operations in the southern regions of its air defense identification zone.

According to Taiwan’s authorities, China has conducted its greatest invasion of Taiwan’s air defense zone yet.

In the previous twenty-four hours, more than seventy Chinese aircraft, including fighter jets and drones, entered the zone, and 43 of them temporarily breached the Taiwan Strait’s median line.

The middle line is an unofficial barrier between the two sides, but Beijing has never recognized it formally.

In addition, seven Chinese naval vessels were spotted near Taiwan, according to Taiwan’s defense ministry.

Shi Yi, the spokesman for the Chinese People’s Liberation Army’s Eastern Theatre Command, stated, “This is a resolute response to the current escalation and provocation between the United States and Taiwan.”

Shi was discussing the US defense spending bill, which identified China as a strategic threat and authorized increased security cooperation with Taiwan.

The Taiwanese Ministry of Defense stated that combat aircraft were dispatched to dissuade the Chinese aircraft, while missile systems watched the situation.

The Chinese government asserts that democratic Taiwan must return to China, and in recent years it has regularly harassed the island by sending planes and ships toward it.

Taiwan opposes China’s claim to sovereignty, and according to Taiwan’s official news agency, the recent development has not caused panic on the island.

Monday morning, Taiwan’s president Tsai Ing-wen did not openly address China’s activities when she addressed military officers.

Due to the “constant rise of authoritarianism,” she urged Taiwan to increase its military capabilities.

She stated, “The more precautions we make, the less likely rash violent attempts will be.”

Taiwan would become stronger and safer the more united we are.
