The number of passengers at Heathrow Airport is rising but is still below pre-pandemic levels.

The airport is currently battling staff shortages that led to the announcement of a daily passenger departure limit earlier this year.

In August of this year, Heathrow Airport welcomed nearly three times as many passengers as it did in August of the previous year.

Six million passengers passed through the terminals of London’s airport last month, up from 2.2 million in August.

It was still below the pre-coronavirus August 2019 figure of 7.7 million travelers.

This limit has been extended till the end of October.

Airline passengers in the United Kingdom have endured months of disruptions and cancellations, as well as long lines at check-in, security, and baggage pickup.

Heathrow asserts that since the introduction of the cap in July, there have been fewer last-minute cancellations, more on-time flights, and shorter luggage waits.

However, airlines accuse one of the world’s busiest airports of failing to prepare for a rebound in passenger volume following the outbreak.

Due to the passing of the Queen, Heathrow declined to comment on its most recent traffic statistics.
