On Thursday, the social media platform X, previously referred to as Twitter, experienced worldwide outages lasting slightly over an hour.

According to Downdetector.com, an organization that compiles status reports to monitor disruptions, over 47,000 users in the United States encountered difficulties accessing X and X Pro.

Additionally, some users in Asia and the United Kingdom were unable to view site posts bearing the message “Welcome to X!

For comment, Twitter, the entity owned by Elon Musk, has been requested. Last year, Elon Musk acquired Twitter for $44 billion (£35 billion).

The hashtag #TwitterDown began to gain traction within minutes of the initial reports of the disruptions.

However, the interruption was of a brief duration, as users were granted access to the platform once more within an hour.

Ever since Mr. Musk acquired the platform, advertising revenue has been declining.

Aside from advertisements, he has also been accused of permitting antisemitic posts.

Since then, the organization has filed suit against Media Matters for America, a left-leaning pressure group that made the allegation.

Elon Musk criticized advertisers who abandoned X last month, threatening to destroy the social media platform.

Additionally, the organization has faced allegations of disseminating false information, and the European Union has officially declared its suspicion that X is in violation of its regulations pertaining to disinformation and countering unlawful content.
