  • Coca-Cola recalls 48,000 cans

Tens of thousands of cans of Diet Coke, Sprite, and Fanta Orange have been recalled by Coca-Cola because they may contain “foreign material.”

As of November 6, approximately 2,000 cases, equivalent to 48,000 cans, had been sold in Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida.

In a filing, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) confirmed that all affected cans have been recalled and that no more are available for purchase.

The contaminated cans were produced in Alabama by United Packers.
Included in the recall were aluminum 12-ounce cans. The FDA did not specify the “foreign material” identity.

Due to foreign material, Coca-Cola has recalled products for the second time. The company recalled 7,000 cases of Minute Maid juice in 2021 due to the presence of foreign objects, including bolts and fasteners.
