Kemi Badenoch has invited Anya Hindmarch and Sir Lucian Grainge, among other entrepreneurs, to join the Board of Trade’s revised membership roster.
A cohort of British business leaders, including the CEO of Universal Music Group and the fashion designer Anya Hindmarch, are being lined up to join a revamped government Board of Trade.
Kemi Badenoch, the commerce and trade secretary, may appoint Hindmarch, Sir Lucian Grainge, and Tim Bevan.
According to sources, an announcement is anticipated later this month.
The Board of Trade, formed in the 17th century to encourage foreign trade, remained inactive until 2017.
Whitehall insiders believe Ms. Badenoch is eager for the organization to achieve increased prominence under her leadership.
It has already met since she assumed ministerial responsibility for international trade and its membership is diverse.
Ms. Badenoch resumed bilateral trade negotiations in India last month before the G20 conference.
