- iPhone 15 alarms issue
- iOS 17 ‘Attention Aware’
- Solutions: Disable features, standby
We have all been through the agonising sensation of awakening to discover that our alarms never went off.
Furthermore, contrary to the beliefs of our superiors, Apple customers assert that the new iPhone 15 frequently fails to activate their alarms.
Reddit users, fed up with missing their alerts, now assert that they have identified the source.
It appears that a lesser-known iOS 17 feature is interfering with the alarms of the clock application.
One iPhone user expressed dissatisfaction on Reddit with the failure of their iPhone 15 to sound its alarms in the morning.
The poster inquired, “Has anyone else experienced difficulties with their morning alarms not going off in this manner?”
They demonstrated that they had programmed several alarms to occur every two to five minutes.
They wrote, however, that “only my 6:45 AM alarm went off, and when I awoke, my earlier alarms were still “set” but did not emit any sound.”
Furthermore, according to the Reddit user, none of the alarms were recurring, meaning they did not re-set themselves after the allotted time had passed.
Furthermore, they claim they did not reset any of their alarms that morning, which further complicates the situation.
Other iPhone users, however, quickly discovered a workaround for the issue.
One Reddit user hypothesised that the problem was with a relatively obscure setting known as “Attention Aware.”
“Seize the opportunity: Sign up for Webull UK and receive free shares!”
This iOS 17 feature enables the device to discern whether or not the user is concentrating.
It is possible that the iPhone is mistaking being observed for an examination and, as a result, is not activating a deafening alarm.
Fortunately, despite the fact that this problem may be aggravating, it is surprisingly simple to resolve.
Fixing iPhone Alarm Issues
Simply disabling ‘Attention Aware Features’ in the iPhone’s settings will ensure that your alarms come into effect.
Two locations on the device contain this information: the Face ID & Attention option and the Voice Control subset of the Accessibility settings.
Once this feature is deactivated, the phone will no longer recognise morning checks and will cease to sound alarms.
Several additional solutions were also suggested by iPhone users on Reddit, should this fail to resolve the issue.
One commenter stated, “If you have an excessive number of alarms that go off, they may overlap with alarms that you have snoozed, which has a small chance of malfunctioning.”
Users have also proposed that the issue may be resolved by disabling the Standby Mode on the most recent iPhone.
Added with iOS 17, this function transforms your phone into an intelligent display while it charges.
When the phone is connected in and inverted, a customisable interface, which typically includes a clock, will be displayed on the screen.
Nevertheless, certain iPhone users have reported that this has disrupted the regular operation of their morning alarms.
To deactivate dormant mode, access the dormant menu within the Settings menu.
You can then easily deactivate StandBy to ensure that your alarms always sound on time.
