Ahead of the holiday season, Apple is facing a disaster as multiple services encounter outages. This comes just days after the company declared a cessation of smartwatch sales.

On Wednesday, approximately five hours were marked as offline for Apple Card, Cash, and Pay & Wallet, according to the system status dashboard of the tech behemoth.

According to available data, there are approximately 507 million Apple Pay customers globally, with over six million cardholders in the United States.

Due to these problems, millions of individuals are unable to purchase last-minute holiday gifts.

At 6:15 a.m. ET, the outage appeared to affect “some users,” according to Apple’s status pages.

Uncertain about the cause of the disruption, Apple stated, “We are investigating this matter.”

The status page indicated that the services became accessible at 10:45 a.m. ET.

Apple Card is a credit card issued by Goldman Sachs on behalf of the technology behemoth, specifically designed for use with Apple.
The card is currently exclusive to the United States and is held by a minimum of six million American citizens.

Similar to Venmo, Apple Cash was introduced with iOS 11 in 2017, enabling iPhone users to transfer funds to one another.

Apple Pay, on the other hand, has emerged as one of the most widely used digital wallets globally.

This function also enables users to utilize stored cards and tap payment terminals.

In 2022, 18.1 percent of American consumers utilized Apple Pay; by 2026, 23.3 percent of Americans are anticipated to have adopted the service.
