Iran’s president has reaffirmed that even the most minimal assault launched by Israel would elicit a “massive and severe” reaction. This statement continues to heighten apprehension regarding the possibility of a full-scale conflict in the Middle East.

President Ebrahim Raisi issued the warning while speaking at Wednesday’s annual Iranian army procession. The international community is on the lookout for possible retaliation in response to Iran’s attack on Israel over the weekend.

Despite ongoing international pressures, Israel has made a firm commitment to take action. On Wednesday, while visiting Israel, the foreign minister of the United Kingdom implied that the country has decided to “act.”

Raisi, speaking at the ceremony, praised Iran’s “True Promise” direct attack on Israel and reaffirmed recent threats of a “ferocious and strong response.”

Since October, when the Palestinian group Hamas launched the Gaza War in response to Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, Iranian allies in Lebanon and Yemen have been involved in intermittent hostilities with Israel.

The Iranian consulate in Syria was the target of a purported Israeli bombardment on April 1, which in turn instigated Iran’s inaugural direct assault against Israel.

Raisi asserted, “The international community observed that ‘True Promise’ brought an end to the Zionist regime’s illusory hegemony following Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.”

Declaring that the attack was “limited in scope,” he asserted that “the Zionist regime would have left nothing” had Iran intended to execute a more extensive assault.

According to Iranian officials, any Israeli retaliation would be greeted with an immediate and retaliatory reaction.

“At that moment, the adherents of the Zionist regime will discover that their covert influence is powerless to effect change,” the president said, as reported on his official website.

“Decision in the act”

Additionally, Raisi attacked Israel’s allies. “At this time, the nations that attempted to normalize relations with this heinous and criminal regime stand in disgrace before their compatriots,” he declared.

As Israelis await Iran’s response to its attack on Gaza, concerns that the conflict could escalate into a full-scale war have reached their highest point.

Japan and Australia, along with Israel’s European and American allies, have advised Iran to exercise restraint, just as Russia and China have done the same. However, Israeli officials have assured that an answer will be provided.

Demonstrating solidarity with Israel is justified. David Cameron, the foreign minister of the United Kingdom, told reporters during his visit to Tel Aviv, “It is appropriate that we have made our views on what should occur next clear, but it is clear that the Israelis have decided to act.”

“We hope they do so in a manner that… is both intelligent and tough and does minimal damage to the situation,” he continued.

Anticipation of the Red Sea

Wednesday, to avert an Israeli response, the Iranian navy chief stated that warships would be stationed in the Red Sea to provide escort for Iranian commercial vessels.

“In pursuit of a mission to accompany Iranian commercial vessels to the Red Sea, the Navy is deployed its Jamaran frigate to the Gulf of Aden,” Naval Commander Shahram Irani stated, as the semiofficial Tasnim news agency reported.

He added that Tehran is happy to accompany vessels from other nations.

Commensurate with Houthi attacks from Yemen, the Red Sea has been significantly disrupted for cargo destined for Israel.

Since November, the group supported by Iran has engaged in naval assaults in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, claiming to be conducting a solidarity campaign with the Palestinian people and in opposition to Israel’s ongoing conflict in Gaza.
