Star Wars devotees can rejoice as Lucasfilm has announced a sequel to the popular Disney+ series starring Pedro Pascal is currently in production.

A film based on the Star Wars spin-off series, The Mandalorian, will present Baby Yoda on the big screen.

Production will begin this year, according to Lucasfilm, which is five years after the last installment in the series, The Rise of Skywalker, was released.

Grogu, a film adaptation of The Mandalorian, will be directed by Jon Favreau, the show’s creator.

It is anticipated that Din Djarin, also known as the Mandalorian on television, will continue to be portrayed by Pedro Pascal.

The Disney+ series recounts the exploits of a bounty hunter donning a helmet as he defends Grogu, a young individual belonging to the same species as Yoda, against the remaining imperial forces.

The third season will be released in 2023. Its narrative unfolds over a decade following the occurrences depicted in Return of the Jedi.

In search of a fresh strategy, Disney suspended work on future Star Wars films and abandoned numerous others.

However, according to its president, Kathleen Kennedy, the narrative “fits perfectly for the big screen.”

“I’ve always enjoyed narrating stories set in the opulent universe that George Lucas fashioned,” Favreau continued.

Also the possibility of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely thrilling.
