There is an urgent recall of baked beans available at major supermarkets due to concerns that they may contain small rubber pellets.

One variety of Branston’s and own-brand products at Asda, Sainsbury’s, and Tesco are the affected items.

Food safety officials have advised Britons who purchased the containers against consuming them.

It is anticipated that the balls, which have a diameter of approximately 2.5 centimeters, could cause choking.

A total of six cans of beans, all of which were produced by the manufacturer Princes Group, have been recalled.

Two varieties consist of baked beans infused with tomato sauce, whereas the remaining two involve baked beans and sausage.

The remaining items are mixed legume salad tins.

Each item has a best-before date ranging from November 2025 to October 2027. The recall is not comprehensive in scope; it is limited to particular production codes.

There are no additional products that have been identified as being impacted.

The Food Standards Agency also issued the alert, which advised, “If you have purchased the aforementioned items, refrain from consuming them.”

“Instead, return them for a full refund to the store from which they were purchased.”

“For additional information, please contact the customer service departments of the respective brands that are referenced in the recall notices.”

Rubber spheres are incorporated into the bean manufacturing process.

It follows Tesco’s recall of a batch of its own-brand Christmas stuffing blend earlier this week because of a “possible presence of moths.”

The retailer warned that the 130g packets of Tesco Finest Apple & Cranberry Stuffing Mix were contaminated and, therefore, “unfit for human consumption.”
