  • Everton’s new stadium: 2025-26 season
  • Goodison Park: 2024-25 last season
  • Relocation decision based on fan feedback

Everton is slated to commence operations at their new stadium in the 2025-26 season, notwithstanding the project’s completion at Bramley Moore Dock, initially planned for late next year.

The club will move from Goodison Park in the off-season after speaking with fans. Although Everton insists that the postponement is not the result of any construction-related complications at the new 52,888-capacity stadium, they must still secure the necessary funds to complete the structure. The development is expected to be finalized by the conclusion of 2024.

It indicates that Everton will occupy the historic Goodison Park stadium for a single, complete season in 2024-25.

Colin Chong, Everton’s interim chief executive officer, confirmed: “At the start of the 2025-26 season, our senior men’s team will play its first competitive football matches at our new stadium.

Relocation Decision and Stadium Preparation Updates

“To clarify, our decision not to relocate during the middle of the season is in no way related to a construction delay.” The club has arrived at this decision after considering several factors, including commercial intelligence, a thorough evaluation of the necessary logistics, a potential impact on football operations, and, most significantly, fan feedback gathered through a recent stadium migration survey that involved nearly 10,000 Evertonians.

“Everton Stadium’s completion is still firmly on schedule for the last weeks of 2024,” Chong added. Additionally, the club will conduct venue test events in the first half of 2025 for relocation preparation.

“In order to obtain our safety certificate, we will be required to conduct test events at our new home. Which will allow us to stress-test the stadium in a variety of ways,” he continued. “Evertonians will also have the opportunity to inspect and utilize the new facilities.” Some test events may require various audiences, while others will be operationally focused and simply require our people.

Everton is organizing a sequence of activities to commemorate their departure from Goodison Park. Which will have served as the club’s permanent home for nearly 134 years by its final match. Information will be provided as it becomes available.
