These hidden emoji are compatible with both the iOS and Android versions of the TikTok app, but you’ll need special credentials to access them.

TikTok supports native emoji on all platforms, which users can insert from their smartphone’s interface, similar to how emoji are used on other platforms such as WhatsApp and Instagram.

However, many users are unaware that the iOS and Android versions of the app support 46 hidden emoji.

Emojipedia explained in a blog post about the hidden characters that the only method to insert a hidden TikTok emoji is by knowing the list of TikTok emoji codes.

Copy and paste any emoji shortcode into a TikTok comment or caption.

Emojipedia added, “Unlike native system emojis, which appear with designs from Apple, Google, or Microsoft (depending on the platform being used), TikTok’s hidden emoji list uses the same visual style across all operating systems and manufacturers.”

The announcement comes shortly after Emojipedia disclosed the 118 proposed new emoji for this year.

The new characters consist of a lime, vertically and horizontally swaying heads, and a phoenix bird.

Users can also anticipate four new silhouette-based gender-neutral family emoji (scroll down for the complete list).
