According to NHK News, hotel staff in Sapporo, Hokkaido, the northernmost main island of Japan, found it.

A man’s headless corpse was discovered in a hotel in Japan, according to reports.

According to NHK News, a decapitated body, presumed to be that of a 62-year-old local, was discovered in a hotel room in Sapporo, a city on Japan’s northernmost main island of Hokkaido.

Sunday afternoon, hotel personnel reportedly discovered in the bathroom of a second-floor room in the Susukino red-light district hotel.

According to NHK News, police recovered surveillance footage from the site that allegedly showed the man entering with another individual on Saturday night.

Sunday at 2:00 a.m., the other individual was reportedly seen departing alone.

Another website, Kyodo News, reported that the individual was seen departing with a black suitcase believed to contain the victim’s head and clothes.

The man was presumably beheaded with a cutting instrument after his death, according to an autopsy report.

More than 200 officers are purportedly participating in the search for the person who was seen leaving the hotel room.
