Mel C has confirmed that the Spice Girls would like to perform at next year’s Glastonbury Festival.

On Saturday night, the singer made her official Worthy Farm début, performing solo material and some of her former group’s hits on the Avalon Stage.

When asked if they would accept an offer to play the now-traditional “legends” slot on Sunday afternoon, she consented.

“All of the Spice Girls would love to perform at Glasto,” she told.

“Like I told the audience [on Saturday night], performing a few Spice Girls songs was a little bit of a warm-up for next year?'”

She continued, “They have practiced, they know the words, and they are prepared.” “Therefore, if I can drag the other girls along… All Spice Girls want to play at Glasto, so I suggest “drag” them.

Mel C claims Spice Girls want to play Glastonbury next year.

“It’s just a matter of coming together at the right time.”

She continued, “And it’s quite intimidating, as some of the ladies have not performed on stage in years.

“However, I believe that [performing at Glastonbury] is on the bucket list, as it is the ultimate for an artist.”

Last year, Sporty Spice DJed at Glastonbury and performed with Blossoms on “Spice Up Your Life.”

She last performed with her chart-topping group, known for tracks like “Wannabe” and “Stop,” at Wembley Stadium in 2019 – which marked the conclusion of their first tour as a quartet, without Victoria Beckham – and they have been inactive ever since.

Mel C told BBC’s Colin Paterson at last year’s event that it would be an “absolute dream” to reunite the band for Glastonbury, and that Posh Spice might even rejoin them if they did.

This time around, she did not confirm Beckham’s participation in a potential Somerset super show, though she subsequently told that “most” of the original lineup would jump at the opportunity.

In an interview with Everitt, the 49-year-old singer explained that during their heyday in the 1990s. Festivals such as Glastonbury were not venues for pop performers, but that times have changed.

“It was my first Glasto, and over the years, people are always surprised by that,” she explained. “But of course, festivals were so different in the 1990s that the Spice Girls would never have performed at one.

“I believe that the first festival I performed at as a solo artist was V Festival in 1999. This is the first time I’ve performed with my ensemble on that stage.

“We had an incredible crowd, and it felt like such an honor to receive a response as if four Spice Girls were standing next to me.”

While the audience sang some of her solo material “word for word,” including a duet with Tom Grennan in the Bryan Adams role on “Baby When You’re Gone,” the response was especially enthusiastic when she performed her former group’s hits such as “Who Do You Think You Are?”

“Love them or hate him, everyone remembers the Spice Girls,” she said with a smile.

The Spice Girls would replace Yusuf alias Cat Stevens and Blondie, who will share Pyramid Stage headlining duties on Sunday afternoon, should festival organizers Emily and Michael Eavis offer them the 2024 Legends slot, effectively making them the fourth Pyramid Stage headlining act of the weekend.
