Police name 17-year-old Bournemouth beach victim Joe Abbess.

In a tribute to the young man, his family expresses their “heartbreak and devastation” over the loss of their “wonderful son and brother.”

On Wednesday, Southampton’s 17-year-old Joe Abbess drowned near Bournemouth’s coast. Dorset Police recognised him.

Sunnah Khan, a 12-year-old girl, also perished in the incident, along with eight others who were injured.

Joe’s family released the following statement through Dorset Police: “We are distraught and devastated by Joe’s passing. He was a beloved son and brother who will be sorely missed.

“His family and friends will always adore him, and we are incredibly proud of the outstanding young man that he was. He was generous and kind, loving and concerned, diligent and humorous.

Joe was an accomplished apprentice chef with a promising future. We were lucky to have him for seventeen years and sad that he will never achieve his goals.

“On Wednesday, he was enjoying a day at the beach, and we would like to thank his friends and all the emergency services who assisted him when this tragedy occurred.”

Paramedics alerted Dorset Police around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday of people needing help on the beach near Bournemouth Pier.

The response of emergency services resulted in the rescue of ten individuals from the water.

Police freed the guy arrested for manslaughter in the deaths of the two children on Thursday.
