Victims told the court that Eleanor Williams had put them through agony. And damaged their lives by falsely alleging that she had been a victim of human trafficking and physical abuse. In March, the 22-year-old will be sentenced.

A lady who claimed she was victimized by an Asian grooming gang was found guilty of perverting the course of justice.

The 22-year-old Eleanor Williams posted images on Facebook and claimed she had been groomed, trafficked, and abused. But authorities said she had self-inflicted her injuries with a hammer.

Her tweet was shared more than 100,000 times, leading to protests in her area. And a visit by the founder of the English Defense League to “investigate.”

Eleanor Williams, who claimed a grooming group was Asian, perverted justice.

Today, a jury at Preston Crown Court found her guilty of eight counts of attempting and intending to obstruct justice.

In addition to saying she was abused by an Asian gang. The court heard that she had accused other males of rape dating back to 2017.

Williams, from Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, released the photographs in May 2020 after saying she was taken to a residence and raped there.

However, prosecutors asserted that the injuries were self-inflicted using a blood-stained hammer discovered at her residence.

Eleanor Williams, who claimed a grooming group was Asian, perverted justice.

Jonathan Sandiford KC stated that it was the “ultimate” untruth in a series of deceptions.

The defendant uses her social network relationships to discover random names on the internet. Which she then presents as victims or perpetrators of human trafficking,” he told the jury.

It was stated that she sent herself social media messages that appeared to be from traffickers or other victims.

In other instances, she was accused of manipulating genuine people into sending her texts purportedly from abusers.

Prosecutors linked it to the plot of the Liam Neeson

The trial heard that the Snapchat account she said belonged to an Asian trafficker. Named Shaggy Wood belonged to a Tesco employee from Essex.

The jury was also informed of Williams’ claims that businessman Mohammed Ramzan had groomed her beginning at the age of 12. Forcing her to work in Amsterdam brothels and even selling her at auction in the city.

Prosecutors linked it to the plot of the Liam Neeson film Taken. But noted that Mr. Ramzan’s bank card was being used at B&Q in Barrow while she was in Amsterdam.

During questioning, Mr. Ramzan asked Mr. Williams’ attorney, “Don’t you think you’ve put my life through enough misery, or has your client?”

Jordan Trengove, one of the men she accused of rape, told the court that the allegations had devastated his life.

Williams denied telling a “pack of lies” and told the court that she wanted “people to know what was. And is happening in Barrow.”

At a previous hearing, she pled guilty to one count of perverting the course of justice. After phoning her mother and sister to ask them to bring the hammer to her attorney.

In March, Williams will be sentenced.
