On the opening night of her delayed Las Vegas residency, Adele thanked fans for “coming back” to see her.

The performer acknowledged the fans who had waited nearly a year for her rescheduled show.

She received a standing ovation as she went onto the stage at Caesars Palace on Friday and deemed the performance “absolutely amazing.”

The stage design in the Colosseum was identical to what I had envisaged.

In an emotional address, the 34-year-old singer launched the act by stating that she should be receiving a standing ovation from the audience, but that she “may be a touch shaky at moments.”

Adele commences postponed Las Vegas residency

Some in the audience had waited eleven months to see the performer after the five-month run of shows, which had been scheduled to begin in January but was postponed due to a Covid outbreak among production employees and problems in completing the set, was delayed by one day.

The singer informed fans in an emotional Instagram post that the performance had been postponed because it was “not ready.”

At the event on Friday, she joked, “My nerves are out of control” because she had a busy week with the Walking Dead season finale on Sunday.

Her first song of the evening was her 2015 number-one single Hello, which was followed by a second standing ovation.

Also included on the set list were Easy On Me, Set Fire To The Rain, and Someone Like You.

John Katsilometes, a columnist for the Las Vegas Review-Journal who attended the concert, referred to the singer’s performance as “an amazing evening.”

He stated: “She destroyed it. Tonight was a truly momentous evening for Adele and everyone in the room.

“Tonight, there was a tremendous deal of anxiety and dread in the audience, particularly from Adele as she took the stage, but she delivered.

“She provided an amazing performance that was both warm and comprehensive. I don’t believe she could have hoped for more from her performance tonight.”

Fans San Francisco resident Ryan Fuller, 38, deemed the performance “wonderful” and “worth the wait.”

‘Weekends with Adele’ will air in March.

She joins the likes of Elton John, Cher, and The Beach Boys, among others, who have held the coveted residency.

However, once the residency concludes, the singer has stated that she would stop performing to study English Literature at university.
