Matt Hancock claims I'm A Celeb viewers will see 'the real me'

Matt Hancock has stated that viewers will see him “warts and all” on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, as his first bushtucker trial has already aired.

In a small teaser clip at the end of Tuesday night’s episode, the former health secretary hoped to reveal “the real me.

In the video, the politician and comedian Seann Walsh were both announced as contestants.

Mr. Hancock stated that this experience will be exciting. “When I’m in camp, everyone will see me as I truly am. Survival in the jungle is an apt metaphor for the environment in which I work.

People will see the human aspect of the individual behind the podium. I don’t believe I have any phobias or fears, but I’m about to find out.”

His appearance was confirmed on social media following the performance with an Instagram post on the official I’m a Celebrity account.

ITV aired footage of the MP and Walsh completing their first bushtucker trial before Wednesday’s broadcast.

The pair can be seen in grainy footage sifting through muck and grubs in a muddy cave for stars that would provide food for the camp.

Ant and Dec can be spotted giggling despite their apparent inability to discover any.

When Mr. Hancock asks Walsh the direction to go, Walsh responds, “I’m not a satnav, I don’t know!”

The former 44-year-old cabinet minister’s decision to appear on the reality TV show has resulted in the removal of the Conservative Party whip.

In response to these worries, he stated that he believed it was “really quite crucial” to demonstrate to the public that politicians are “genuine people.”

During his isolation, unlike the rest of the camp, Mr. Hancock has access to his phone and laptop so he can continue working and communicating with his people.

Walsh, his fellow camper, informed viewers that he was “in no way prepared” to enter the bush and expressed concern that there would be no tea or coffee at camp.

Walsh stated, about his performance on Strictly Come Dancing, where he was spotted kissing his dance partner Katya Jones, “I went on a dance show and it didn’t go over too well.”

“I suspect I’ll be participating in a couple of trials,” he continued.

Olivia Attwood of Love Island, one of the favorites to win the competition, was forced to leave the jungle for medical reasons after just one day.

Culture Club star Boy George, TV host and property expert Scarlette Douglas, Lioness Jill Scott, Coronation Street actress Sue Cleaver, Hollyoaks actor Owen Warner, rugby star Mike Tindall, comedian Babatunde Aleshe, and journalist and broadcaster Charlene White are also participating in this year’s series.
