Next month, Girls Aloud will organize a charity gala in honor of their bandmate Sarah Harding, who died of breast cancer a year ago.

As part of the Sarah Harding Breast Cancer Appeal, the Primrose Ball will be hosted in London on October 8, with guests like It’s A Sin’s Olly Alexander performing to raise funds for the Christie NHS Foundation Trust and Cancer Research UK.

Harding was 39 when she died in September of last year. Cheryl, Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh, and Nadine Coyle will host the event alongside Fearne Cotton and Johnny Gould.

“Charles Oak, hotel director of The Londoner, and Sarah had a really special relationship, which will make Sarah’s gala evening even more memorable.

We hope that by raising a substantial amount of money, we can avoid other people from finding themselves in Sarah’s dreadful situation.

In July, the members of the club participated in a Race For Life in Harding’s honor.

The Sarah Harding Breast Cancer Appeal seeks to fund research that identifies novel approaches to predict which young women without a family history of breast cancer are likely to get the disease so that individuals can be recognized earlier when treatment is more likely to be successful.
