Heavy rain, possibly accompanied by hail and thunderstorms, is anticipated to move northwards throughout the day from the capital and the east of England.

Until 10 a.m., the Met Office had issued a yellow warning for rain across eastern Scotland, spanning from Edinburgh to Aberdeen.

Thursday could likely see isolated floods in eastern regions due to severe thundershowers, the agency’s website states.

Met Office stated that the outlook remains unpredictable due to the involvement of two successive tropical systems in the Atlantic Ocean.

However, many regions of the country may anticipate calmer skies throughout the weekend.

Met Office chief forecaster Paul Gundersen stated, “The effect of low pressure will continue to dominate this week, particularly on Friday.

On Friday, eastern and northeastern England, as well as southern Scotland, may experience a period of very heavy precipitation.

“Low pressure will ultimately shift eastwards on Saturday, resulting in a dry and partly sunny day for many,” he added.
