According to reports, the student “launched a rapidly-rotating main parachute at a low altitude without allowing sufficient time or altitude for the reserve parachute to expand.”

According to rumors, a TikTok influencer died while skydiving in Toronto because her reserve parachute did not have enough time to inflate.

Tanya Pardazi, age 21, who had more than one hundred thousand TikTok followers, passed away on August 27 during her first solo dive after finishing training with Skydive Toronto.

She had also competed in a prior Miss Canada competition in which she reportedly reached the semifinals.

According to the facility’s website, students must finish training on “all the fundamentals required to complete your first skydive” before their first jumps from 4,000 feet.

In a Facebook statement, the facility confirmed the death of a 21-year-old student but did not identify Pardazi by name.

According to the statement, a philosophy student “launched the main parachute at a low height without allowing sufficient time or altitude for the reserve parachute to expand.”

“The skydiver was a welcome addition to the skydiving community and will be missed by the student’s new friends and fellow Skydive Toronto Inc. jumpers,” the statement continued.

“The crew at Skydive Toronto Inc. has been tremendously impacted by this disaster, as they have been refining their student training program for over fifty years.”

The University of Toronto cheerleading squad wrote on Instagram that Ms. Pardazi was “one in a million” and will “forever be a part of our team and our hearts.”

Friends stated that she lived her life to the “fullest” and that they “cannot believe” she has died.

Melody Ozgoli, a childhood friend, told CTV News Toronto, “She truly enjoyed every day to the utmost.”

This is the greatest surprise for us. It is quite difficult to process. It’s been several days, and we still can’t believe it.”
