The body of a British man believed to have jumped off a boat to save his son has been discovered in Italy.

Last month, Aran Chada from Leicestershire took his partner and two children on vacation to Lake Garda.

Volunteers located his body on Tuesday, according to the local coastguard. He had been missing since 22 July, when he disappeared while swimming.

The family is currently in the United Kingdom but will return to Italy to identify the remains.

Aran Chada was discovered drowned in Italy after saving his son.

It is believed that the holiday was organized to mark Mr. Chada’s upcoming 52nd birthday.

When Mr. Chada’s kid ran into danger off the shore of the tourist town of Limone, the family leased a boat.

Volunteers discovered Mr. Chada’s body at a depth of 316 meters (1,037 feet) and a distance of 800 meters (2,625 feet) from the coast of Limone, according to the coastguard.

This was “about near the region where he was spotted sinking,” according to the coastguard, and his drowning was “likely due to illness” after his son was rescued.

The coastguard previously informed that Mr. Chada’s partner called European emergency number 112 to raise the alarm.

According to them, Mr. Chada “rescue his son” before “disappearing” near the boat.

The mother yelled and the father jumped into the water, according to a witness who spoke to the local media.

The coastguard stated that it quickly dispatched one of its boats that was on patrol in the area.

A helicopter, divers from the fire department, police officers, and volunteers all participated in the search for Mr. Chada.

A Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) representative stated, “We are assisting the family of a British man who passed away in northern Italy and is in communication with local authorities.”
