Tom Holland, the actor who portrays Spider-Man, has stated that social media might be “detrimental” to his mental health.

Holland, age 26, is the most recent young celebrity, following in the footsteps of Selena Gomez, to emphasize the negative consequences of social media platforms such as Twitter and Instagram.

Many followers praised him online for it, with one calling it “a clever move.”

In an online video, Holland stated: “I find Instagram and Twitter stressful and overstimulating.

When I read stuff about myself online, I get caught up and spiral, which is ultimately bad for my mental health.

Therefore, I choose to take a step back and delete the application.

Holland plays the eponymous superhero in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which was lauded by reviewers upon its release last year and was a box office smash.

In the video, which he released to his 67 million Instagram followers, Holland promoted an organization dedicated to promoting positive mental health among adolescents.
