- Duke quits public life
- Settlement in assault case
- Maxwell sentenced, Epstein dead
The Duke of York vehemently denies any culpability.
Jeffrey Epstein allegedly recorded sexual conversations with Prince Andrew, Bill Clinton, and Sir Richard Branson, according to prosecution documents.
Sarah Ransome, claiming to be an Epstein victim, detailed allegations in 2016 emails to a reporter that the pious U.S. financier filmed the Duke of York, the former President of the United States, and the billionaire businessman having sex with her unidentified companion on separate occasions.
The law firm representing Alan Dershowitz, Epstein’s attorney, emphasized the allegations to illustrate that Ms. Ransome “obviously lacks credibility.”
A US judge has ordered the unsealing of hundreds of documents containing the allegations as part of a civil suit filed in 2015 and settled in 2017 by Andrew’s accuser, Virginia Giuffre, against Ghislaine Maxwell.
Despite the defamation case’s resolution seven years ago, the Miami Herald prevailed in its endeavor to disclose the names and documents linked to it.
Andrew vigorously denies any guilt.
Ms. Ransome delivered a victim impact statement before the 2022 sentencing of Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime associate and ex-girlfriend, on charges of sex trafficking.
According to a 2019 New Yorker article, Ms. Ransome acknowledged that she “fabricated the tapes to draw attention to Epstein’s behavior and convince him she had ‘evidence that would emerge if he harmed me.'”
“A Virgin Group spokesperson, on behalf of Sir Richard Branson, stated, “Ransome acknowledged in a 2019 New Yorker article that she had ‘invented’ the tapes.” We affirm that the assertions made by Sarah Ransome are without merit and lack foundation.”
Ms. Ransome wrote in emails regarding the 2016 documents: “During each instance in which my friend had sexual relations with Clinton, Prince Andrew, and Richard Branson, Jeffrey did record sex tapes.”
“By some miracle, she obtained access to footage from the filmed sex tapes that unequivocally depict Branson, Clinton, and Prince Andrew engaging in sexual activity with her.”
“Unfortunately, Epstein was not visible in any of the footage; however, he was quite astute in that regard!”
Despite my acquaintance summoning the courage to report the incident to the police in 2008, no action was taken, and she was subjected to severe humiliation by the department where she initially presented the information involving Prince Andrew, Epstein, Clinton, and Branson.
Additionally, in the email excerpts, Ms. Ransome claimed that former U.S. president Donald Trump had sexual relations with “many girls.”
The alleged Epstein victim wrote, “I also know she [a friend of Ms. Ransome] had sexual relations with Trump regularly at Jeffrey’s mansion in New York.”
As a witness in the Giuffre defamation case against Maxwell, Ms. Ransome provided photographs taken on Epstein’s private island, Little St James, in the U.S. Virgin Islands, which included Maxwell, herself, Epstein, and other young women.
After unsealing the documents, the public received a subset of the 2006 images on Monday.
Royal Controversy and Legal Fallout
The duke abstained from public life and discontinued using his HRH title after the contentious debate surrounding his friendship with Epstein.
A civil case involving the prince and Ms. Giuffre, who accused him of sexually assaulting her when she was 17 years old, was settled for millions of pounds. He denied ever having met Ms. Giuffre.
She claimed Andrew assaulted her sexually while she was bathing in the London residence of Maxwell. Unsealed legal documents, however, assert that the tub was “immeasurably small to accommodate a man of Prince Andrew’s stature, much less engage in sexual activity.”

In his 2017 deposition, unsealed on Monday, Maxwell’s attorney, Philip Barden, stated: “She [Ms. Giuffre] claimed she had sex with Prince Andrew in a bathtub that was so small that a man of Prince Andrew’s stature could not even enjoy a bath, let alone engage in sexual activity in it.”
Maxwell received a 20-year prison sentence in June 2022 in New York for assisting Epstein in the sexual abuse of adolescent girls as part of a “horrific scheme” that caused “incalculable” damage to the victims, as described by the judge.
Since July 2020, Maxwell has been in custody, notwithstanding the efforts of her defense attorneys to secure her release on bond. They have slated the hearing for her appeal for November.
In August 2019, Epstein’s remains were discovered deceased in his cell at a federal jail located in Manhattan, where he was serving his pending trial on allegations of sex trafficking. He committed suicide.
