On Sunday night, a Section 60 order was issued, granting cops the authority to demand the removal of face coverings used to disguise a person’s identity. Anyone who refuses may be arrested.
The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that a woman is in critical condition after being stabbed at the Notting Hill Carnival.
The 32-year-old lady was one of three persons stabbed on Sunday, along with a 29-year-old guy who is in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and a 24-year-old man, on whom police are awaiting an update.
So far, police have made 90 arrests at the Carnival, with 18 of them for possessing an offensive weapon.
According to a police update released Sunday night, hundreds of thousands of people attended the Notting Hill Carnival today for a magnificent celebration.

Matthew Phillip, chief executive of the Notting Hill Carnival, stated ahead of this year’s festivities that the riots and violent disorder following the Southport stabbings earlier this month “highlights why Carnival was set up in the first place.”
He stated: “Carnival is the UK’s largest celebration of inclusivity and social cohesion.
It was founded to bring together communities from many backgrounds, and nearly 60 years later, it continues to do so.
Earlier on Sunday, the streets of West London were alive with color, costumes, dancing, and music, and hundreds of people enjoyed the festivities.
Young people dressed in colorful and complex costumes were dancing in the streets around the parade route.
The annual Caribbean heritage, arts, and culture festival has been held for over 50 years.
The main procession, which takes place on Monday, is touted by organizers as the Carnival’s culmination with “party vibes.”
Over the last two years, there have been over 500 arrests at the Notting Hill Carnival, as well as 15 stabbings, one of which resulted in death and more than 125 assaults on police officers.
