Kyle Sambrook, 33, and his spaniel Bane arrived in the Scottish Highlands on Saturday to climb Glencoe’s Buachaille Etive Mor.
A search has been launched for a missing hiker and his canine who traveled from West Yorkshire to climb in Glencoe.
Kyle Sambrook, 33, and his canine Bane arrived in the Highlands around 3:45 p.m. on Saturday.
It is believed that Mr. Sambrook intended to hike and wild camp in the area to ascend Buachaille Etive Mor.
He was expected back home on Tuesday but failed to return and has not made contact with any family or friends since arriving in Glencoe.
Later, Mr. Sambrook’s black Peugeot 208 was discovered in the parking lot of The Three Sisters.
Police Scotland describes him as 5ft 8in tall, of medium build, with ash blonde hair, ginger/blonde sideburns, and blue eyes. He has a West Yorkshire accent.
He was last seen wearing khaki and black Merrell hiking boots, khaki and black outdoor pants. A dark and light blue hooded Peter Storm waterproof jacket, and a grey North Face beanie hat.
Mr. Sambrook carried a grey and yellow Merrell rucksack and a green two-person tent.
Bane is a medium-sized beagle with brown and white markings on its back.
“If you believe you may have seen Kyle and/or his canine while walking in the hills or the area since Saturday. Please contact police on 101,” a Police Scotland spokesperson said.
“If you have been in this area since Saturday, please also review the dashcam footage.”
