Clare Nowland, hospitalised with a steak knife, is in serious condition and losing consciousness.

In Australia, a 95-year-old matriarch is in critical condition after being tasered by police.

Officers were dispatched to a nursing home after staff discovered Clare Nowland brandishing a steak knife outside her room.

They conversed with her for several minutes, but when she refused to drop the knife and approached the officers, one of them used a Taser to send her to the ground.

She was using a mobility frame and had dementia at the time.

Australian cops taser 95-year-old woman using walking frame at care facility.

Assistant Commissioner Peter Cotter stated, “At the time she was tasered, she was slowly approaching police officers.”

Ms. Nowland was taken to the hospital, where she is losing consciousness alongside her family.

It occurred at the Yallambee care facility in Cooma, approximately 300 kilometers (186 miles) southwest of Sydney.

The officer who discharged the Taser has been placed on administrative leave, and the homicide unit is now involved.

Even though body cameras captured the incident, New South Wales Police have determined that it is not in the public interest to disclose the footage because an investigation is ongoing.
