Vladimir Putin asserts that Russia would do all necessary to finish the Ukraine crisis “as quickly as feasible,” even though his force has been losing ground in recent days.
Thousands of square kilometers of the area around Kharkiv have been retaken from the Russian military in the northeastern region of the country.
The Ukrainian flag now flies over dozens of additional communities, including the important city of Izyum, where a mass grave was uncovered, while a leading police investigator expresses his horror at the discovery.
Ukrainian forces, bolstered by the accelerating advance near Kharkiv and the progress in the south near Kherson, seek to drive all Russian troops from Ukrainian land.
However, this is likely not what President Putin has in mind when he calls for a speedy resolution to the crisis.
At a televised meeting in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, he chatted with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Mr. Modi told the Russian president, “I am aware that the current moment is not one of conflict, and we have discussed this over the phone.”
Mr. Putin pursed his lips, peered at the Indian leader, and then looked down before caressing the hair on the back of his head.
He informed Mr. Modi that he understood his concerns about Ukraine, but that Moscow was doing all possible to resolve the issue.
“I am aware of your stance on the issue in Ukraine and the frequent concerns you voice,” he continued. We will do everything necessary to immediately halt this.
Zelensky: The world must observe what the Russian army left in Izyum.
Following the discovery of a mass grave in the recently recovered city of Izyum, there was a public outcry.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated through Telegram on Friday afternoon, “Today, the world must witness what the Russian army has left behind.
“There are around 400 burials in the woodland near Izyum. We still do not know the actual number of bodies.
“Russia has become the world’s largest supplier of terrorism, and no other terrorist force is responsible for as many deaths.
This must be officially recognized. The global community must intervene. Russia must be acknowledged as a sponsor of terrorism.”
