Kim Yo Jong, a member of North Korea’s politburo, referred to president Yoon Suk-yeol as “very simple and yet infantile” after he promised gradual economic aid on the condition that North Korea halts its nuclear weapons development.

The sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un warned the president of South Korea to “stop his mouth” after she refused an offer of economic aid in exchange for nuclear disarmament.

Kim Yo Jong, a member of North Korea’s politburo, characterized South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol as “very simple and still immature.”

Kim Jong Un's sister tells South Korean president to 'shut up' as she rejects aid.

“No one trades their fate for cornbread,” she continued in a statement issued by the state-run news agency KCNA.

Kwon Young-se, the unification minister of South Korea, condemned her remarks as “disrespectful and indecent.”

It is the first time that a senior North Korean official has directly remarked on Mr. Yoon’s “audacious” proposal.

He has stated that he is willing to assist North Korea with incremental economic aid if it stops developing nuclear weapons and begins denuclearization.

Ms. Kim, however, was vehement in her rejection of the notion, stating of Mr. Yoon, “It would have been better for his image if he had kept his lips shut instead of speaking gibberish because he had nothing else to say.”

Wednesday, North Korea launched two cruise missiles into the ocean off its western coast.

She promised retaliation a week ago in response to the outbreak of COVID-19 in the north, which was allegedly triggered by southern activists dumping flyers and other objects from balloons.

On 10 August, while addressing a big audience in Pyongyang, she stated, “What concerns is that South Korean puppets continue to push pamphlets and filthy stuff into our territory.

“The filthy South Koreans were the principal perpetrators who cruelly breached the safety of our people, inflicting anguish and concern on millions of parents in our country who had to undergo all hardships to preserve the lives of their precious children.”

She said, “We have eradicated the sickness spread by the filth of South Korea.” We must respond with vigor. We have already explored a variety of countermeasures, but our countermeasure must be lethal.”

The initial proposal for economic aid from the south was made in May, and Mr. Yoon mentioned it again on Wednesday, his 100th day in office.

In addition, Kim has sought to bolster his nation’s military deterrent against North Korea, and Seoul has resumed long-suspended joint drills with the United States, including massive field operations scheduled to begin next week.
