The captain of Portugal says he is unconcerned about how his actions would affect the team and are optimistic about their chances of winning the World Cup.

During a surprise appearance at a Portugal World Cup news conference, during which he defended his explosive Manchester United conversation with Piers Morgan, Cristiano Ronaldo described himself as “bulletproof” and “iron-clad.”

The captain of Portugal stated that he is unconcerned about how his actions will affect the team and that he is optimistic about their chances of winning the World Cup.

“The best timing in my life has always been my time,” Ronaldo told reporters on Monday.

“I am not required to consider what others believe. I speak at my discretion. The athletes have known me for many years and are familiar with my personality.

Cristiano Ronaldo says he's bulletproof in Manchester United interview.

“This bunch is ambitious, eager, and dedicated. Therefore, I am confident that (the interview) will not disrupt the changing room’s attention and focus.”

As a result of Ronaldo’s appearance with Morgan on TalkTV, it is believed that Manchester United’s attorneys are examining options to end Ronaldo’s tenure with the club.

Ronaldo, who has spent the majority of this season on the bench, scoring three goals in 16 appearances, accused United of betrayal for attempting to force him out of the club.

He also claimed that he had “no respect” for manager Erik ten Hag and that two top people at Old Trafford treated him with suspicion when he reported that his daughter Bella had bronchitis three months after her twin brother died.

The 37-year-old, who is participating in his fifth World Cup, also requested that reporters refrain from asking other Portugal players about him.

“You may assist by not discussing me. “I am fully bulletproof and impregnable,” he declared.

“I would be upset if you asked other players about Cristiano Ronaldo. I would like it if you asked him about the World Cup and the team,” he continued, referring to himself in the third person.

Ronaldo denied a dispute with Portugal and Manchester United teammate Bruno Fernandes during his impromptu media session on Monday.

He said that his uncomfortable greeting with Fernandes, which was captured on tape and went viral, was the product of a joke between the two.

Ronaldo stated, “My friendship with Fernando is good.”

“We were joking around. His plane was late, so I inquired whether he had arrived by water. That is all.

“The atmosphere in the locker room is fantastic. No problems.”

After missing Thursday’s friendly against Nigeria in Lisbon owing to an upset stomach, Ronaldo has resumed normal training with the Portugal squad that arrived in Qatar on Friday.

He remarked, “I’m feeling terrific, I’m fully recovered, and I’m training well in preparation for the World Cup.”

“I believe this Portugal team has tremendous potential. I am certain that we can win, but we must concentrate on the next match. Therefore, the attention is on Ghana; a win is required before proceeding.

“We shall see who the best team is in the end, but I believe Portugal is the best team in this World Cup.” But we must demonstrate it on the field.”
